For components that need more than standard passivation can offer, we apply a clear lacquer top coat over trivalent blue passivated zinc. The lacquer seals the passivation layer, significantly extending time to white rust, resisting fingerprints and handling marks, and giving a glossy, premium appearance on visible parts. It remains hexavalent-chromium free.
Why choose this finish
The lacquer seals the passivation and markedly increases salt spray performance.
Ideal for visible hardware, trim and customer-facing assemblies.
Parts stay clean-looking through assembly and storage.
Builds on trivalent blue passivation for RoHS and ELV compliance.

FAQ
Lacquer seals the passivation film, which can extend salt spray performance from tens of hours to several hundred hours, and it protects the finish against fingerprints and handling marks. It is the cost-effective step up before moving to more expensive coating systems.
A clear lacquer adds only a very thin layer, but on fine-pitch threads torque-tension behaviour can change slightly. Tell us the application and we will advise, or run a trial lot for your validation.
Yes. The system is bright zinc with trivalent (Cr3+) blue passivation and a clear lacquer, so it contains no hexavalent chromium.
